A native of Charlotte, NC, Dr. W. Jeff Pinkston is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communications at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1982. In 1987, Jeff earned his Doctorate of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary.
Dr. Pinkston has served as the installed pastor of two churches before coming to Steele Creek. His first church was Pollocksville Presbyterian in Pollocksville, NC where he served for eight years. In his former position at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian in Charlotte, he helped three congregations merge into one while leading them through innovative worship services, inspiring Bible studies, and both local and international mission activities. He served Pleasant Grove for 11 1/2 years.
Jeff is married to Miriam Hill Pinkston and they have been married for 33 years. They have four children who are 30 years old…that’s right, quadruplets!
Jeff believes that God has blessed him with a unique ability to preach and teach His Holy Word. He serves the faith community at Steele Creek Church using his gifts while “equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” (Eph 4:12) He is endeavoring to lead Steele Creek in its faithful proclamation of God’s Word, while at the same time, seeking new and innovative ways to share that Word with the unchurched. Jeff believes that God’s Word Written and the gift of grace in the Word made flesh in Jesus the Christ have the power to transform our lives into living testimonies that, even in their weakness, give glory to God.
