Terms and Conditions for Text (SMS) Alerts
Effective June 4, 2025
Purpose of Messaging
You will receive text messages from Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill related to:
- Notification of deaths within the church family
- Funeral arrangements
- Weather-related updates affecting worship services, office hours, other on campus activities
- Event reminders and updates
- Announcements regarding donations, fundraising opportunities, or opportunities to volunteer and serve
- Other church-related communications deemed appropriate
Frequency of Messages
Messages are sent as needed and are typically limited to no more than six (6) messages per month.
Cost
There is no cost from Steele Creek Presbyterian Church to receive text messages. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
How To Opt-Out
You may opt out at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message you receive
- Updating your preferences through the Communications Request Form in Church Center (for members in our database)
- Contacting the church office at office@steelecreekchurch.org or 704-588-1290
Links within Messages
Some text messages may contain clickable links to provide additional information, ability to register for events, access livestreams, submit forms, or visit our church website. All links included in our messages will direct you to content managed or endorsed by Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill.
Who May Subscribe
You must be at least 13 years of age to subscribe to receive text messages. Also, you may subscribe if you:
- Are listed in our church database and have opted in via the Communications Request Form
- Are actively participating in a church-hosted event (e.g., vendors, sponsors of events like but not limited to our fall festival, craft fair, or golf tournament) and have provided consent via a paper or online form

Use of Third-Party Communication Tools
Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill uses trusted third-party platforms to help us send emails, texts, phone calls, and app notifications. These tools may process your contact information solely for the purpose of delivering church communications. Your information is not shared beyond what is necessary for this purpose, and we do not sell or disclose your data to unrelated third parties.
