Then sings my soul, my savior God to Thee;
Tune my heart to sing Thy Grace
How Great Thou Art!
Our Steele Creek Ringers handbell choir will head out to the Bell Tower Ringers Festival and Handbell Concert to hone their skills and advance their ringing abilities.
The Bell Tower Ringers Festival and Handbell Concert is a training clinic handbell ringers attend to hone their ringing skills to provide you with the most joyful sound as we praise God together.
“David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their fellow Levites as musicians to make a joyful sound with musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.” 1 Chronicles 15:16
Besides the ringers and their overnight bags, the ringers will load over 60 handbells, plus mallets, gloves, music stands, music books, foam pads, and even our own table covers into the church van to head out Friday, March 13, to Salisbury, NC.
At 6pm, approximately 200 bell ringers will arrive, unload and set-up in under one hour to be ready to rehearse from 7pm to 9pm on that first night. This could be a logistical nightmare, but Kaarin is an excellent conductor of music as well as movement and sets the pace and expectations for timely set-ups and break-downs.
Saturday, the ringers have several mass rehearsals before a public concert from 4pm - 4:30pm. The concert is free. Drive out to Salisbury, tour the shops in town, and walk over to First Pres and enjoy the 4pm show.
The Handbell choir will ring "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay on April 5. Be here by 10:30am to get a great seat!
Here at SCPCPH, music is an integral part of the worship service. Celebrate and share your musical gifts by exploring one of the many musical opportunities here at Steele Creek. Whether you’re a beginning musician just starting out on their musical journey, or a seasoned player interested in sharing your passion, we’d love to have you make music with us.
Our services are thoroughly infused with music-making so that each and every person in the sanctuary has the chance to participate if the Lord moves your heart. For those with a desire to contribute more, there are opportunities to sing in the choir, participate in small ensembles, or perform as a soloist. All skill levels are welcome, and the ability of our participants range from enthusiastic volunteers to professional musicians.
SANCTUARY CHOIR
The Sanctuary Choir members share the common vision of creating music that inspires us to lift our hearts to God in praise. Rehearsals encompass a wide range of repertoire styles, along with educational opportunities for vocal technique, choral sound production, music theory, sight reading, and reflection on why music moves our hearts. In addition, time for fellowship activities to facilitate group bonding (i.e. FUN) is mixed into the schedule. You do NOT need to be an experienced chorister because you’ll have access to rehearsal tracks in order to sing at home or on the road. The requirements for membership are enthusiasm, energy, and effort. We welcome interested singers to drop in to any of our rehearsals.
- Rehearsals: Wednesdays from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
- Ages: 14 and up
- Audition? No
'With gratitude in your heart, sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God. And do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.'
